Polish premiere of Salvatore Sciarrino's musical masterpiece Aspern Suite from 1969, performed by Joanna Freszel and Hashtag Ensemble conducted by Lilianna Krych.
The piece is based on the 19th-century novel The Aspern Papers by Henry James and takes up the age-old analysis of the complicated relationship between a woman and a man. The libretto of the Aspern Suite refers both to the novel itself, but also gives it an extremely interesting interpretation context - using quotes from authentic love songs of Venetian gondoliers and fragments of Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro.
